Zwigato

Nandita Das’ Zwigato is a moving narrative showing the working class prospects in India through the life of Manas who was an ex-factory manager and is now a food delivery rider for Zwigato app. While Manas tries to adjust with his new tasks on hand, a wider perspective is taken as the movie explores areas like job related insecurities, gig economy and the evolution of family structure over the period of time.

As Manas, Kapil Sharma breaks out of his comedic role to play a role requiring a lot more vulnerability.

Pratima as played by his supportive wife Shahana Goswami shines in her role where she has to work too, as they are short on hand count. Zwigato is not just one man’s fight to survive, it goes deeper and fought with the insight of the emotional drive for development and strength of the working man.
