Shershaah

Shershaah is a film directed by Vishnuvardhan which was released in the year 2021 and belongs to the Indian biographical war action genre. It draws inspiration from Captain Vikram Batra, an Indo-Pakistani War of 1999 corporal in the Indian Army who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra(Achievement during service) posthumously for his exceptional courage during battle.

Sidharth Malhotra plays Captain Batra, a lieutenant of the Indian army, while Kiara Advani has featured his love interest Dimple Cheema in Shershaah. Critics praised Shershaah for honoring the heroism of the Kargil warriors, especially the lead actors' performances, and the story.

The movie turned out to be a commercial entertainer and reviewed well due to its nationalistic plot and tribute to the Indian Armed Forces. Many consider Shershaah one of the finest war pictures produced in Indian cinema.
